It is not a delivery promise. ## Cement, boards and furniture in Naujoji Akmenė Naujoji Akmenė was built around its cement plant, and its main manufacturers make cement and calcite products. The district has limestone, clay and gravel deposits, and peatland covers 6.5% of it. Invest Lithuania lists cement, roofing, boards and panels among the building materials of the Šiauliai region, which includes Akmenė district. The Akmenė free economic zone adds wood-based industry. By road, the Ezere crossing on road 163 is about 40 km away and Meitene on the A12 about 61 km. Other roads lead to Akmenė, Žagarė, Šiauliai, Mažeikiai and Joniškis. A rail branch connects the cement area with the Kužiai–Mažeikiai line. Klaipėda port lies to the south-west, and our own trucks sail from that port with Swedish loads. Kalvarija, where trucks enter Poland, is about 310 km by road, so German loads may also use the Kiel ferry. ## How a load runs from Naujoji Akmenė We plan the load and book the truck: our own truck on Lithuanian and Swedish routes when one is free, a checked partner carrier on every other route. Do you carry boards and beams from the Akmenė free economic zone? Yes. Particleboard, construction boards and beams on pallets fill a curtainsider as full loads. Give us the length of the longest piece and the total weight, because board loads are heavy. Inside Lithuania and to Sweden our own trucks can drive; Germany and the Benelux go with checked partners. 2. Can you take bulk cement from Naujoji Akmenė? No. Bulk cement travels in silo trucks, and limestone or gravel in tippers. Curtainsider trailers like ours take only palletised or packed goods. Bagged cement on pallets is a load we can take, up to about 24 tonnes per standard trailer. 3. Which crossings do Naujoji Akmenė loads use for Latvia? Ezere on road 163 or Meitene on the A12, about 40 and 61 km away by road. The town itself is only about 7 km from the border.
