## Road routes from Lithuania to Slovakia

The fastest road route from Klaipėda to Bratislava is about 1,300 km. The truck drives through Poland on the A1 motorway and enters Czechia near Ostrava. It follows the D1 motorway past Brno and the D2 motorway to Bratislava. All countries on the route are in the EU, so the truck crosses no customs border.

Eastern Slovakia is closer to Lithuania. Košice is about 1,180 km from Klaipėda. The fastest route there runs through Warsaw and Kraków and does not cross Czechia. Send us both addresses, and we plan the route for your load.

Slovakia is one hour behind Lithuania all year. When it is 10:00 in Klaipėda, it is 09:00 in Bratislava. Give the loading and delivery times in the local time of each address.

## Tolls and driving bans for trucks in Slovakia

In Slovakia, vehicles over 3.5 t pay an electronic toll on set sections of motorways and class I roads. The toll depends on the distance, the vehicle category, the emission class and the number of axles. Each vehicle needs an on-board unit that belongs to that vehicle. Our price includes the toll.

From 1 January 2027, Slovakia uses a new electronic toll system. Carriers register their trucks in the new system from 1 December 2026 and get new on-board units. Until 31 December 2026, trucks use the current system and its units. The toll rates and the toll roads stay the same. The price we agree includes the toll in both systems.

Trucks over 7.5 t, and trucks over 3.5 t with a trailer, have driving bans on motorways, expressways and class I roads. New hours apply since 1 September 2026\. Before that date, the Sunday ban started at 00:00 and the summer Saturday ban at 07:00\. Other hours apply when several days off follow each other.

## Winter rules for trucks in Slovakia

Slovak law requires winter tyres for trucks over 3.5 t on at least one drive axle. The rule covers the period from 15 November to 31 March and days with snow, ice or frost on the road. The tyres must carry the mountain and snowflake symbol or the M+S mark.

Snow can slow a truck in winter. Agree a delivery window with the receiver, and send us the loading date early.

## Documents for loads between Lithuania and Slovakia

Both countries are in the EU customs territory, so EU goods travel between them without an export declaration and without customs formalities. Every load travels with a CMR consignment note. Add the invoice and a packing list, so the receiver can check the goods at delivery.

If the route crosses a country outside the EU, the load travels with a transit document. Goods from outside the EU that are not yet cleared also need a transit document. Tell us before loading.
