Transit and customs documents for Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan is outside the EU customs territory, so a load needs an EU export declaration and an Azerbaijani import declaration. The goods cross Türkiye and Georgia under a transit procedure. A TIR carnet can cover this transit, because the EU, Türkiye, Georgia and Azerbaijan all apply the TIR Convention. We arrange the customs declarations with a trusted partner.
A national association issues TIR carnets to authorised carriers. Before booking, we check that the partner carrier can take the route with your documents. Georgia joined the Common Transit Convention on 1 February 2025, so a transit declaration in NCTS (common transit) is also possible from the EU as far as Georgia.
For loads from Azerbaijan, the order is reversed. The goods leave Azerbaijan with an Azerbaijani export declaration and travel under TIR to the customs office of destination in the EU. There, they get an EU import declaration. Before booking, we explain which documents your load needs. Send the invoice and the commodity codes before loading.

Road tolls and truck rules on the route to Azerbaijan
On the way to Azerbaijan, the truck pays the toll of each EU country on the route. Poland, Slovakia and Hungary charge trucks over 3.5 t per kilometre. In Türkiye, trucks with foreign plates need an HGS account to use toll motorways and bridges. The truck can leave Türkiye through customs only after all Turkish tolls are paid.
The price we give you includes the tolls on the route. Poland, Slovakia and Hungary also have truck bans on some days, for example on summer weekends. Ask us how the ban days affect your loading date.
