Pallet calculator: how many pallets fit in a truck

RNJ Transport’s free pallet calculator shows how many pallets fit in a truck. A standard curtainsider trailer takes 33 euro pallets or 26 industrial pallets on the floor, and twice as many stacked two high. Enter your pallet type, the number and the weight. The calculator checks floor space and payload.

We filled in an example. Change any number to see your own result.

Choose 2 high or 3 high only if the lower pallet can carry the upper ones and all of them fit under the trailer roof.

  • Your 26 pallets fit in one vehicle. 7 more would fit.
  • Floor space decides. The floor has 33 pallet places.
  • The calculator stands the pallets the usual way, every row the same. A loader can sometimes fit one or two more by turning some of them.

The button adds these numbers to the price form at the bottom of this page.

  • A standard curtainsider trailer, about 13.6 × 2.45 m inside, takes 33 euro pallets in 11 rows of 3.
  • The same trailer takes 26 industrial pallets in 13 rows of 2, or 66 half pallets in 22 rows of 3.
  • Stacked two high, it takes twice as many, if the lower pallets can carry the load and all fit under the roof.
  • A standard trailer carries about 24 tonnes. Heavy pallets reach that limit before the floor is full.

Pallets per standard trailer

A standard curtainsider trailer is about 13.6 metres long and 2.45 metres wide inside. Euro pallets stand 3 across, so 11 rows of 1.2 metres take 33 pallets. Industrial pallets stand 2 across with the 1.2 metre side across, so 13 rows take 26. The table shows the counts on the floor and stacked two high.

Floor space and weight

The number that fits is the lower of two limits: the floor places and the payload. A standard trailer carries about 24 tonnes. With 1,000 kg on every euro pallet, the weight limit is 24 pallets, so 9 of the 33 floor places stay empty. Enter the weight per pallet, and the calculator shows which limit decides.

Stacking doubles the floor count only when the goods allow it. The lower pallet must carry the upper one without damage, and both must fit under the roof. Ask us for the inside height of the trailer on your route.

Other vehicles

Choose “Other vehicle” and enter the inside length, the inside width and the payload. Take these numbers from the vehicle owner, because bodies of the same nominal size differ. The calculator stands every row the same way. A loader can sometimes fit one or two more pallets by turning some of them.

RNJ Transport focuses on full truckloads. If your load fills a large part of a trailer, send the number of pallets, the weight and the route in the price form. You can also call us.

Frequently asked questions

  1. How many euro pallets fit in a truck?

33 on the floor of a standard curtainsider trailer, in 11 rows of 3. The trailer is about 13.6 m long and 2.45 m wide inside. Stacked two high, 66 fit, if the goods can carry the load and fit under the roof. Heavy pallets can reach the 24 tonne payload before the floor is full.

  2. How many industrial pallets fit in a trailer?

26 on the floor of a standard trailer, in 13 rows of 2. An industrial pallet measures 1,200 × 1,000 mm and stands with the 1.2 m side across the trailer. Stacked two high, 52 fit. In loading metres, 26 industrial pallets use 13.0 of the 13.6 metres.

  3. How many pallets fit in a 7.2 m truck?

Enter the inside length and width under “Other vehicle”. With 7.2 m inside length and at least 2.4 m inside width, the calculator gives 18 euro pallets, 6 rows of 3. The payload of such a truck is much lower than 24 tonnes, so enter the payload too.

  4. How much weight can one euro pallet carry?

Up to 1,500 kg, under the EPAL rules for a euro pallet. The trailer limit often decides first: 24 tonnes on 33 places is about 727 kg per place on average. Enter the weight per pallet, and the calculator shows whether the floor or the payload decides.

  5. Is the result a price?

No. The calculator counts pallets and checks the weight. The price depends on the route, the date and the trucks free on that day. Use “Ask for a price with these numbers”, and our team calls you with a fixed price.
