Road freight prices and what sets them

RNJ Transport prices each road freight load by the route, the load size in loading metres or pallets, and the weight. The date and the temperature also change the price. We do not publish fixed prices, because these factors change often. Send the route, the date and the load size in the price form. We call you back. You can also call us during working hours.

  • We price a full truckload per truck.
  • Many trucks run from the Netherlands and Belgium to the Baltic states every week. We can usually find a checked truck for your date.
  • Temperature control, urgent dates and long waiting make the price higher. Ferry crossings are part of the price.
  • You get one fixed price and one invoice from RNJ Transport.

Price factors for road freight

RNJ Transport builds every price from the same seven factors. Five come from your load: the route, the size, the weight, the date and the temperature. Two come from the road: tolls and ferries, and waiting time. The table shows what to tell us and how each factor changes the price.

RNJ Transport does not carry dangerous goods (ADR).

Trucks from the Netherlands and Belgium

Many trucks run from the Netherlands and Belgium to the Baltic states every week. So we can usually find a checked truck for your date. You get a fixed price that we keep, and one contact person for the load.

Full truck, loading metres and pallets

A full truckload (FTL) uses the whole trailer, and you pay per truck. A standard curtainsider trailer takes 33 euro pallets, about 13.6 loading metres and about 24 tonnes. Tell us if your pallets can be stacked, because stacked pallets take less floor space.

We focus on full truckloads. Part loads are usually priced by loading metres.

What to send for a fast price

Send these details in the price form, by email or by phone. With all of them, our planners can check a truck and give you a fixed price in one step. If a detail is missing, we need a second call first.

  • Loading and delivery addresses, with postcodes and countries
  • Loading date and latest delivery date
  • Number of pallets and their size, or loading metres
  • Whether the pallets can be stacked
  • Gross weight in kilograms
  • What the goods are and their value
  • The temperature, if the goods need temperature control
  • Loading and unloading hours, and the contact person on site

Frequently asked questions

  1. How much does road freight from the Netherlands to Lithuania cost?

We price each load separately, because the price changes with the load size and the date. Many trucks run this route every week, so we can usually find a checked truck for your date. Send the route, the date and the load size in the price form. We call you back. You can also call us during working hours.

  2. Is the price fixed when I book?

Yes. When you book, we agree one fixed price for your route, date and load. If the load, the addresses or the dates change, the price can change too. Extra stops or long waiting can add cost. Talk to us before you change a booked load.

  3. What is a loading metre?

A loading metre is one metre of trailer length across the full width of the trailer. A standard curtainsider trailer has about 13.6 loading metres. One euro pallet (120 × 80 cm) takes about 0.4 loading metres. Part loads are often priced by loading metres, because floor space matters more than weight.

  4. Does the price include insurance?

Not full-value insurance. The carrier’s CMR liability applies to every international load, up to 8.33 SDR per kilogram, about 10 euros per kilogram. Cargo insurance for the full value is separate. If your goods are worth more, tell us their value when you book, so we can talk about cover before the truck leaves.

  5. How fast do I get a price?

Send the route, the date and the size of the load in the price form. We call you back within 2 working hours. We confirm a fixed price once we know which truck can take it. For an urgent load, call us during working hours.
