Route from Lithuania to Finland
The usual route from Klaipėda to Helsinki is about 710 km. The truck drives through Šiauliai, Riga and Pärnu to Tallinn. From Tallinn, a truck ferry crosses the Gulf of Finland to Helsinki, about 80 km by sea. In Tallinn, ferries to Finland sail from the Old City Harbour and from Muuga Harbour.

Road rules and winter tyres for trucks in Finland
Finland charges trucks no road tolls and no vignette. The European Commission’s map of truck charging in the EU shows Finland with neither tolls nor vignettes. On the way, the truck pays the time-based road charges of Latvia and Estonia. RNJ Transport includes all road and ferry costs in the price we agree with you.
In Finland, the winter tyre rule follows the weather. The rule is in the Road Traffic Act. From November to March, when the weather or the road requires it, trucks must have winter tyres with at least 5.0 mm of tread on the drive axles. A drive axle that also steers is not covered. Other axles and all trailer axles need at least 3.0 mm.
Studded tyres are allowed from the start of November to the end of March. Finland has no general weekend or public holiday driving ban for trucks.

Documents for loads between Lithuania and Finland
Both countries are in the EU customs territory, so EU goods travel between them without an export declaration and without customs formalities. Every load travels with a CMR consignment note. Add the invoice and a packing list, so the receiver can check the goods at delivery.
If the route crosses a country outside the EU, the load travels with a transit document. Goods from outside the EU that are not yet cleared also need a transit document. Tell us before loading.
