How we work
RNJ Transport runs every load in the same seven steps, from your first request to one invoice. Our planners in Klaipėda choose our own truck or a checked partner carrier. Our director has 15 years of experience in transport and logistics. You get one contact person for the load, the truck details before loading and the signed CMR after delivery.
- Every load follows the same seven steps, on our own truck or on a partner truck.
- We check every partner carrier before every load: licence, company register, insurance, a phone call and the plate numbers.
- We do not give your load to a second company without telling you.
- You get the truck and trailer plates before loading and a copy of the signed CMR after delivery.
- You get one invoice from RNJ Transport, also when a partner carrier drives.
Seven steps of every load
RNJ Transport uses the same seven steps for every load, on our own truck or on a partner truck. You always know what happens next and who to call. One contact person from our transport team stays with your load from the first request to the invoice.
-
You send the request
Send your route in the price form, or call us. Tell us the pickup and delivery places, the date, the pallets or loading metres, the weight and the type of goods.
-
You get a price
We send a fixed price for your route and date. The price stays the same after you book, unless the load or the dates change.
-
We choose the truck
We choose our own truck or a partner carrier. We check every partner carrier before every load, as the table below shows.
-
You get the truck details
Before loading, we send the truck and trailer plate numbers and the driver’s phone number. You can send them to the loading site.
-
We follow the load
We follow the truck from loading to delivery. If anything changes, we call you. During working hours you can call your contact person for news.
-
Delivery and CMR
The receiver signs the CMR consignment note at delivery. We send you a copy of the signed CMR.
-
One invoice
You get one invoice from RNJ Transport for the whole trip, also when a partner carrier drove. The payment terms are the ones in your order confirmation.
Information we need for a price
A correct price needs correct load data. Wrong weights or sizes often cause extra costs later. Send us these details when you ask for a price:
- Pickup and delivery addresses, or at least the towns and postcodes
- The loading date and the latest delivery date
- The number of pallets or loading metres, and the pallet size
- The gross weight
- The type of goods, and whether the goods need a set temperature
- Opening hours at loading and delivery, and any booked time slot
How we choose and check carriers
RNJ Transport checks every partner carrier before every load. We look at the licence, the company register, the insurance and the people we talk to. Each check confirms that the company, the truck and the people match what we booked. Our checks protect your goods.
We choose carriers we already know first. On the route from the Netherlands and Belgium, we work with Lithuanian fleets that run it every week. Trucks from freight exchanges go through the same check. If a carrier fails one check, we do not use that carrier.
| Check | What we look at | When |
|---|---|---|
| EU licence | A valid EU Community licence for the carrier, and a certified copy in the truck | Before every load |
| Company register | The carrier’s company is active, not in bankruptcy or liquidation, and has no tax or social insurance debts | Before every load |
| CMR insurance | A valid CMR liability insurance certificate: the insurer, the cover amount and the end date | Before every load |
| Phone call | We call the carrier on a number we already know, not only on the number in the offer | Before every load |
| Truck and trailer plates | The plate numbers of the truck and the trailer, and the driver’s name and phone number | Before loading |
| No hidden subcontracting | We do not give your load to a second company without telling you | Always |
Documents for every load
Every international road load travels with a CMR consignment note. The sender, the driver and the receiver sign it. RNJ Transport sends you a copy of the signed CMR after delivery, together with one invoice. Inside the EU, goods in free circulation need no export declaration.
| Document | Who prepares it | When you get it |
|---|---|---|
| Order confirmation | RNJ Transport | Before loading. It shows the route, the dates, the price and the payment terms. |
| Truck details | RNJ Transport | Before loading: the truck and trailer plates and the driver’s phone number |
| CMR consignment note | Filled in at loading. The sender, the driver and the receiver sign it. | A copy after delivery |
| Invoice | RNJ Transport | After delivery: one invoice for the whole trip |
| Commercial invoice or delivery note | The sender | Travels with the goods |
Delays and next steps
We cannot stop every delay. Traffic, weather and driving-time rules affect every truck. What we can do is tell you early and keep working until the load arrives.
If a truck is late, RNJ Transport calls you before you need to call us. We tell you what happened, where the truck is and the new arrival time. Then we start work on another solution. The solution depends on the reason for the delay:
- A delay on the road: we give you a new arrival time and keep you updated until delivery.
- A truck that cannot come to loading: we look for another truck, our own or another checked carrier.
- A problem at loading or delivery: we talk with the driver and the site and agree the next step with you.
- A delivery slot at risk: we warn the receiver early and ask for a new slot.
Payment terms for shippers
RNJ Transport agrees payment terms with each client before the first load. The terms are written in the order confirmation that you get before loading. After delivery, we send one invoice with a copy of the signed CMR. Ask about payment terms when you ask for a price.
Frequently asked questions
-
How do you check a carrier before a load?
We check every partner carrier before every load. We look at the EU licence, the company register status and debts, and the CMR liability insurance certificate. We call the carrier on a number we already know. Before loading, we get the truck and trailer plates. If a carrier fails one check, we do not use it.
-
Will you give my load to another company?
No, not without telling you. The carrier in your truck details is the carrier that drives your load. If we must change the carrier, for example after a breakdown, we tell you first and send the new truck details. The new carrier goes through the same check.
-
When do I get the truck details?
Before loading. We send the truck and trailer plate numbers and the driver’s phone number. Send them to the loading site, so the staff know which truck to expect. If the truck changes, we call you and send the new details.
-
When do I get the CMR?
After delivery. The receiver signs the CMR consignment note when the goods arrive. We send you a copy of the signed CMR together with one invoice. The CMR shows that the receiver accepted the goods, and any notes about damage or missing items.
-
What happens if the truck is late?
We call you. We tell you what happened, where the truck is and the new arrival time. If the truck cannot reach loading, we look for another truck: our own or another checked carrier. If a delivery slot is at risk, we warn the receiver early and ask for a new slot.
-
What are your payment terms?
We agree payment terms with each client before the first load. You see them in the order confirmation before loading. After delivery, you get one invoice from RNJ Transport with a copy of the signed CMR. Ask about payment terms when you ask for a price, so there are no surprises later.
