Route from Lithuania to Poland

The usual road route from Klaipėda to Warsaw is about 610 km long. The truck drives to Kaunas and on through Marijampolė to the border at Kalvarija. In Poland, it follows the S61 expressway past Suwałki and Łomża. Then it takes the S8 expressway to Warsaw. The exact distance depends on your loading and delivery addresses.

Poland is one hour behind Lithuania. Loading and delivery slots in Poland are in local time, so check the hour when you plan. Under EU rules, the trip is longer than one driver may drive in one day, so a single driver takes a daily rest on the way.

Road tolls and driving bans for trucks in Poland

Poland charges heavy vehicles per kilometre with the e-TOLL system. The toll covers motor vehicles and vehicle combinations over 3.5 tonnes, and buses. It applies on toll motorways, expressways and national roads. The rate depends on the weight class, the emission class and the type of road.

The truck sends its position to e-TOLL through the e-TOLL PL app, an on-board unit or a European toll service provider (EETS). On 1 February 2026, about 645 km of new road sections joined e-TOLL, so the network now covers about 5,869 km. New rates started on the same day. The carrier pays, and RNJ Transport includes the toll in your price.

Poland bans vehicles over 12 tonnes from 08:00 to 22:00 on 12 public holidays listed in the regulation. Examples are 1 January, Easter, 1 and 3 May, and 25 and 26 December. On the evening before most of these holidays, the ban runs from 18:00 to 22:00. In the summer school holidays, the ban also covers Fridays from 18:00 to 22:00, Saturdays from 08:00 to 14:00 and Sundays from 08:00 to 22:00.

The regulation lists exemptions, for example live animals, medicines and some perishable food. A truck that entered Poland before the ban starts may drive up to 50 km from the border crossing.
