Distances: the road route in OpenStreetMap (OSRM), from city centre to city centre, checked on 24 October 2026. Routes from Poland and further west enter Lithuania at the Budzisko and Kalvarija crossing. Driving time: 60 km/h on average with the breaks the EU rules require, without loading, queues or ferries. Alytus is Lithuania’s sixth city by population and the industrial centre of Dzūkija. Its largest firms make refrigerators and machinery. The Alytus industrial park, roads and rail

The city municipality runs the Alytus industrial park itself, on 65 ha, so new plants deal directly with the city. Dzūkija has no free economic zone; the nearest is in Marijampolė, about 57 km away. Main roads lead to Kaunas, Vilnius, Druskininkai, Lazdijai, Kalvarija and Varėna.

A rail branch of 38 km runs to Šeštokai, where it meets the line to Poland.

One truck from Alytus can serve both directions: south to the Polish border at Kalvarija, or north to Kaunas and on along the A1 to Klaipėda. For Latvia, trucks go through Kaunas and Panevėžys on Via Baltica.

    Yes, with checked partner carriers. Appliances are bulky, so the trailer fills up by space first. From Alytus the truck reaches Poland at Kalvarija, about 75 km away, and continues west. Give the number of units or pallets and the delivery address.

  2. Do you take furniture and mattresses from Alytus to Scandinavia?

    Yes. Furniture and mattresses go north to Klaipėda and over the Baltic Sea. Our own trucks cover Sweden when free, on the Karlshamn ferry. Norway loads travel with a checked partner carrier, with the customs papers made out by a partner customs broker.
