Road freight for companies in Vilnius and the Vilnius district
In Vilnius, the capital and largest freight market of Lithuania, RNJ Transport moves full truckloads for warehouses, factories and distributors. The A1 motorway to Klaipėda port, about 310 km away, starts at the western edge of the city. Our own trucks run domestic and Swedish loads when free, and checked partner carriers run the other routes.
- Vilnius creates more than 30% of Lithuania’s GDP, according to the VLE encyclopaedia.
- Vilnius had about 1.08 million m² of modern warehouse space in mid-2025, more than Kaunas and Klaipėda.
- Vilnius Airport handled 16,384 tonnes of freight in 2024, the most of any airport in Lithuania.
- The Vilnius Intermodal Terminal at Vaidotai handles about 170 containers (TEU) per working day.

Vilnius industry, warehouses and exports
Vilnius is Lithuania’s largest market and a large distribution hub. Food makes about 12.5% of the city’s industrial output, and plants also make furniture, plastic windows and doors, building materials, paper and board, clothing, cosmetics, lasers and telecom equipment. Exports are mainly clothing and bed linen, furniture, plastics and food, above all to Germany and Latvia.
Modern warehouses in Vilnius covered about 1.08 million m² in mid-2025. The biggest cluster sits at Gariūnai, on the western edge beside the A1. In Vilnius district, wood, furniture, mattress, meat and poultry plants work mostly in Riešė, Nemėžis and Rudamina. Grigiškės has a large paper and wood-product maker, and Lentvaris makes carpets, metal products and timber-frame houses.
| Site | What it is |
|---|---|
| Gariūnai | Logistics parks and warehouses on the A1, at the western edge of the city |

Main roads out of Vilnius
Four main roads leave Vilnius. The A1 runs west through Kaunas to Klaipėda port, the A2 north to Panevėžys and Via Baltica, the A14 north-east to Utena, and the A16 south-west through Prienai to Marijampolė. The A16 is the shorter way to Poland: the Kalvarija crossing is about 195 km from the city.
For Latvia, trucks take the A2 and Via Baltica to the Grenctāle crossing, about 212 km away, or the A14 and the Kaunas–Daugavpils road towards Daugavpils. Swedish loads follow the A1 to Klaipėda and sail to Karlshamn.
Rail, air and our road freight in Vilnius
Vilnius has the country’s busiest cargo airport and a rail container terminal at Vaidotai. A Rail Baltica plan for a European-gauge line between Kaunas and Vilnius was approved in April 2026, but it is a plan, not a service. RNJ Transport moves full loads by road between these sites, warehouses and factories.
We collect goods from unloaded containers, deliver to and from the airport cargo area, and run warehouse transfers to Kaunas and Klaipėda. Air freight itself goes through our partners in aviation.

Frequently asked questions
-
Do you move full loads from Vilnius warehouses to Klaipėda port?
Yes. Klaipėda is about 310 km from Vilnius on the A1 motorway, which starts at Gariūnai. Trucks unload at the cargo terminals or drive onto the Swedish and German ferries. Give the warehouse address, the terminal, the loading window and the number of pallets in the request form.
-
Do you deliver from the Netherlands or Belgium to warehouses in Vilnius?
Yes. Loads from the Benelux to Lithuania are our main route. A checked partner truck enters Lithuania at Kalvarija and reaches Vilnius on the A16 or through Kaunas on the A1. We deliver to Gariūnai, Vilnius district and city addresses alike.
-
Do you run full loads from Vilnius to Sweden and Norway?
Yes. Vilnius to Sweden is a route our own trucks serve, crossing from Klaipėda to Karlshamn. Norway loads are given to a checked partner carrier, while a partner customs broker deals with the export and import papers. You talk to one contact person for the whole trip.
-
Do you collect in Grigiškės, Lentvaris or Vilnius district?
Yes. We collect full loads in Grigiškės, Lentvaris, Riešė, Nemėžis, Rudamina and other places around the city. Plants there make paper, wood products, furniture, mattresses, carpets and metal goods. Send the exact address, because many sites lie outside the city limits.
-
Do you move furniture or flats for private people in Vilnius?
No. RNJ Transport works only for companies and carries full truckloads, not household moves. We do not carry parcels or single items for private customers. For a flat move, a removal company in Vilnius is the right choice. For business loads, use the request form.
