Road freight for companies in Kėdainiai, on Via Baltica

RNJ Transport loads full truckloads in Kėdainiai, a food and machinery town on Via Baltica, 51 km north of Kaunas. Local plants make sugar, sauces, ice cream, canned food, steel structures and farm machinery. Klaipėda is about 210 km away. The town’s fertilisers and acids are dangerous goods, so they stay with ADR carriers.

  • The VLE encyclopaedia counts Kėdainiai district among the strongest local economies in Lithuania.
  • Kėdainiai plants make sugar, sauces, ice cream, canned food, meat, bread, leather goods, steel structures and farm machinery.
  • The Kėdainiai free economic zone has road and rail access and targets wood, metal, electronics, automotive, plastics and food firms.

Food, machinery and the chemical plants of Kėdainiai

Kėdainiai has a broad industry. Food plants make sugar, sauces, ice cream, canned food, meat, bread and dairy products, and other firms work with leather, steel structures, farm machinery and wood. The town also makes mineral fertilisers and acids. Being dangerous goods (ADR), they go with ADR carriers, while RNJ Transport takes the packed food, machinery and steel.

Ice cream and fresh meat need a reefer trailer, which a checked partner provides. Sugar, canned food and sauces on pallets travel on a standard curtainsider.

Via Baltica, the core railway and the free economic zone

Via Baltica runs through Kėdainiai as the A8, from Panevėžys in the north to the A1 junction at Sitkūnai in the south. At Sitkūnai, trucks turn west to Klaipėda or east to Vilnius. Kėdainiai also has a station on the core EU rail line to Radviliškis, and the free economic zone has its own road and rail access.

Latvia is close by Via Baltica: the Grenctāle crossing is about 130 km away. The Polish border at Kalvarija lies about 140 km to the south, through Kaunas.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Do you carry fertilisers from Kėdainiai?

No. Mineral fertilisers and acids are dangerous goods (ADR), and RNJ Transport does not take ADR loads. We do carry food, sugar, farm machinery, steel structures and wood products from Kėdainiai. If a product’s status is unclear, send its safety data sheet with the request.

  2. Can you take food or farm machinery from Kėdainiai to Sweden?

Yes. Packed food and machinery go to Klaipėda through Sitkūnai and the A1, then across to Karlshamn. Our own trucks run Swedish loads when free. Chilled food travels with a checked partner reefer, because our trailers are curtainsiders. Send the product, the pallets and the day.

  3. Do you drive from Kėdainiai to Riga on Via Baltica?

Yes, with checked partner carriers. From Kėdainiai, Via Baltica heads north past Panevėžys and Pasvalys to Grenctāle, about 130 km away, and then to Riga and Estonia. One person on our team plans the load and stays your contact until delivery.

  4. Can you deliver to the Kėdainiai free economic zone?

Yes. We bring supplies, machines and packaging to zone plants from Klaipėda port, Lithuanian cities and Western Europe. The zone lies on Via Baltica, so trucks from Poland arrive through Kaunas and Sitkūnai. Give the plot or company name and the delivery window.
